If you want to venture into affiliate marketing, I'm going to share with you some key points that I wish I had known when I started and I think that this would be of great help. So let's get into it.
Nothing is as simple as it seems

I always say this on my posts, and that is looking at 6 or even 7 figure earners in the industry and expecting the same. But let me tell you something, it is not at all as simple as it seems.
And I'm not saying that the process isn't simple to create a life-changing income, but getting to where your goal is, and if the case is the same for you as it is for me, financial freedom and beyond to change your life situation, the process is going to be difficult and I want you to understand that, that it is more difficult than you think.
Again, this doesn't mean that the process of how it all works is that complex, rather it is really simple, but you need to understand that you are going to work your butt off to get where you want to go which brings us to no 2.
Embrace Delayed Gratification

When I first started honestly, I had high and false expectations for this affiliate marketing gig and how much money I was going to make, and how fast I was going to make that money and that is something you see all the time with this entire making money online space.
You see top income earners sharing very simple strategies with you. Now you have to understand that first of all, the strategies that are always shared are mostly very simple, but again if we bring back my no1 point, just because something is a simple process doesn't mean the execution will follow suit.
And one of the hardest things for people to understand (I included) when I first started, is not getting the instant results that were promised and expected which got me frustrated, but rather there was a kind of delayed result.
So if you can understand this and make peace with it then things would make sense and ultimately get easier for you. And I feel this is the reason why many people quit this business, they just can't deal with the concept of delayed gratifications, they come with high hopes of hitting big and when that doesn't work out they get very frustrated and ultimately quit.
So if you finally get this fact, you can now begin taking action knowing that the results will come later, not tomorrow, not next week, and in some cases maybe not even three months down the road, but if you have a vision and know where you want to go and the potential of how much you can earn, that will be a great driving factor enough to keep you going.
Don't Pay For Ads Until You Know How to Run Them

I ran ads here and there for 2 to 3 years without actually learning exactly what I needed to do and that resulted in me losing money on ads (almost 2 thousand dollars), and this is spread out over time, I would try ads and then back out, try it again and again back out.
So what I wish I would have done now looking back at it and what I would tell myself is not to jump into advertising if you don't know what you are doing.
Advertising can explode your business, but it can also sink it and eat all up to your money if you do not have an idea of what you are doing.
So my advice to you if you want to start building your business and growing it with paid advertising, first of all, wait until you have a budget if you do not have the money to be spending on ads, do not run them, because it is going to take a little bit of money to figure out what works with advertising to make them profitable.
So if you do not have the money to invest and lose a little bit, to figure the whole ads thing out then do not run them.
The second thing with ads is that rather invest in you. There are plenty of courses that you can invest in out there that will teach you exactly what to do with paid advertising.
Now I know you guys will point out "but Philip, there are a ton of free content on YouTube teaching me how to do it". That is very true and you know what, if you do not have the money to invest in a course then absolutely go to YouTube and learn how to use and run an advertisement.
But my recommendation is to save up and then when you have enough money you then invest it in a course, because a course is all of the knowledge boxed up for you, usually step by step so that you can know exactly what to do with paid advertising.
Apply 10 Times the Amount of Action that you are Currently Doing

Over the last few months, my business has greatly improved and I have been doing this gig for a long while now and in the last month alone, I have made about 3-4 times more than I did before then and I believe one of the main reasons this has happened is because I took 10 times the amount of action.
Here is what I mean. Right now I'm into blogging and here is what I will tell you guys, whatever you think that you should be doing in whatever way that you are marketing your business. If you are using video marketing or blog posts or whatever the case may be, let's take Blog posts for example;
If you are growing your business with blogging, maybe you are posting 2 blogs a week basically, what I would tell you is to double what your efforts are. So if you are currently posting two a week post 4, if you are doing video marketing and are mostly using the YouTube platform, posting about 2 videos a week, I would recommend you to post 4.
Affiliate marketing has changed my life, it has also changed other people's lives, and here is the cool thing about it, anybody can do it, literally anyone.
But the question is "do you want to do it slow or fast?" and the way to doing it fast is by sprinting towards your goals, taking massive action, waking up every day, and doing something (every single day) to move your business forward.
When I first started, I didn't do any of this, and let me explain to you one of the biggest things that I did and so many others do (most likely even you) if you are brand new, and that is taking all this information and never applying anything.
So here is the difference between people who become successful with affiliate marketing or any form of online business, and the ones who simply wish they would become successful. You MUST change your mindset from being a consumer to a producer.
From consuming contents daily, (a certain amount is okay, but you do not want to spend all of your time taking in information).
You want to consume content and then double down, take twice the amount of time that you used to consume the content to create your content, and only then will your business grow.
Not Focusing on One Marketing Strategy

So I kind of already touched on this, if you are doing videos or blogging or Facebook or Instagram, focus on one strategy, and do not just join all of them together.
Let me explain because I know a lot of you will disagree with this.
If you do not have results in any of your marketing strategies or you do not have the results that you desire right now, then you will need to double down or triple down on whatever the strategy is that you know you can do more of.
So here is the thing, if you are a good writer and not very good at video, then you need to double down on writing or blogging or whatever writing style you are using.
If you are good on video or good at making videos, or even good at screencast (just recording your screen), double, triple down on that.
Now let me explain, this is only when you do not have the desired results. So if you have the income results that you want, if you have the business growths that you want, then absolutely feel free to branch out into other ways to grow your business.
Finally, if you just simply have that mindset that "I'm going to do this until I get the results that I want, it will happen for you, you just have to hang in there, double and even if possible triple down, take massive action and you WILL get here trust me.
