How to Grow Your Blog (just for beginners)

Updated: Feb 1, 2021

If you want to be a successful blogger, Youtuber, Influencer, Instagram, really it doesn’t matter, if you are trying to grow your brand here online, you have a hell of work cut out for you and it is easy to look at those successful influencers right now and think that they are an overnight success, that it all came easy to them and that if you just put in a couple of months of work you are going to be that successful.

But the sad truth is that it normally takes people a couple of years and a lot of freaking hard work to grow their brand online and to ultimately get a large following.

So in this post, I wanna tell you guys how you can kind of cut through the noise and get your content noticed (because there are an infinite amount of content creators here on the internet also trying to get noticed just as you are). So how the hell can you be found and how can you grow your following.

Creating Content

Simply put, create more content.

Produce as much content as possible, because the more content you have out there the better chance of people actually finding you and therefore growing your audience.

So if you can create more contents, I believe (in this case alone) quantity is better than quality, because as you continue putting contents out there you will get better at it (just basic science).

Don't let your fear of “everything not being perfect” get in your way. If it is perfect then you probably are spending too much time on it anyway. So just continue producing content, putting it out there and that is seriously going to make a huge difference in growing your following online.

Have a Specific Vision and Purpose for the Blog

There normally is a problem with lots of blogging newbies (I included) and this is the problem of not having a specific brand or direction. They just keep putting out a lot of different contents.

They want to create simply because they do not want to lose the little audience they have. They have or are not growing at all and because they know this, they have lost the vision and purpose they had set out for the blog in the first place.

One big change that I made to get over that hurdle was to narrow in on the content my audience wanted and to create content that they were searching for and the right keyword phrases to include making sure that you are found.

But beyond keyword research, I had to step into my audience’s shoes and think about what they were searching for, “what are some beginner things I can create, what are some more audience things that I could create that would reach my audience on search engine”.

This also applies to YouTube, Pinterest, Google and it does apply to your Instagram. So you have to think about what your audience is searching for and how can you create the content that they are looking for.

Always remember this as a blogger, “it is always about the readers and not you”.

Be Real. Always

Another problem is writing to put out content because you feel you have to, not passionate about it or sharing tips or things that everyone else is sharing. This doesn’t help grow your log especially with the latter.

Rather, be raw, share real stuff along with your thoughts and opinions. This builds up a better connection with your readers who then want to be part of your audience, hence, growth.

Think Outside the Box

Outside of creating content (because that is the best to ensure that you will be found and hence grow), you also have to think about the many strategies on how you are going to grow as well.

So the next step to take (and the hardest for me), is to collaborate with other bloggers or people within the platform that you are trying to grow in.

Also do guest features, posts, or whatever you have to do to get in front of their audience.

Productivity and Time Management

To be honest, people do not like this at first glance (me especially), simply because they do not understand how it works.

So to put it simply, SMART WORK and not hard work because for me honestly, when I learned how to better manage my time and organize my days to be as productive as possible.

I was finally able to get the stuff that needed attention done, and not only to maintain my blog but also able to get it done much faster and also reserved time for those future projects like marketing, automation, and creating paid products for my blog that were going to push the blog forward and ultimately make me more money.

So when I learned this productivity and time management, it made the biggest difference to me compared to anything on this list.

And so if you are really struggling and feel you have a truckload of things to do and you are barely treading water with the tasks that are already on your plate, just simply put a great effort to learn how to simply better manage your time.
